Openclaw would basically just be running a command in Claude code for this. I've since switched to using Claude's /loop command for this, this since it does the same thing.

Claude Code is the most mentioned tool in the OpenClaw ecosystem at 9,700+ mentions. As Anthropic's CLI coding agent, it occupies a unique position — not an OpenClaw plugin, but a parallel tool that developers use alongside OpenClaw for building and debugging their agent setups. The +58 sentiment reflects genuine enthusiasm tempered by setup frustrations.
The heaviest Claude Code + OpenClaw discussion happens on X (86%) and Reddit (15%). The use cases cluster around three patterns: using Claude Code to build OpenClaw skills, using it to debug agent configurations, and running both as complementary agents in a 'multi-agent' setup.
The key narrative is 'Claude Code builds what OpenClaw runs' — developers use Claude Code as the creation tool and OpenClaw as the execution environment. Security-conscious users also discuss using Claude Code's sandboxing as a safer alternative to giving OpenClaw direct system access.
Some negative sentiment comes from confusion between Claude Code and OpenClaw — users conflating the two or expecting Claude Code features inside OpenClaw. There's also friction around API key management when running both tools simultaneously.
