OpenClaw Data is an independent social intelligence resource tracking the OpenClaw ecosystem. Every number on this site is derived from real social media data — not estimates, not opinions, not AI-generated content. Here's exactly how it works.
The primary data source for this site is Sprout Social's Social Listening platform. Sprout Social Listening continuously monitors public social media conversations across multiple networks in real time. It captures every public post, comment, and share that matches the configured keyword queries.
Networks monitored: X (Twitter), Reddit, YouTube, Bluesky, Tumblr, and the broader web (blogs, forums, news sites).
How keyword matching works: Sprout captures messages containing specific keywords, hashtags, or @mentions. For the core OpenClaw dataset, the tracked terms are "openclaw", "#openclaw", and "@openclaw". For ecosystem data (tools and competitors), separate listening topics use AND logic — for example, "openclaw" AND "ollama" captures only messages discussing both OpenClaw and Ollama together. Competitor data uses OR logic to capture the full independent conversation volume around each alternative.
What gets captured per message: Network, author, full message text, date/time, content type (text, photo, video, link), potential impressions, engagement metrics (likes, comments, shares), location (when available), and source URL.
Sprout Social's Influencer Marketing platform provides a complementary dataset focused on creator-level metrics. While Listening captures all public mentions, Influencer Marketing tracks content from identified creators and measures its commercial impact.
Key metrics from this source:
Creator data is segmented by keyword groups (e.g., "Ollama", "FlashClaw", "MCP") to measure which tools and competitors have the most creator economy traction.
The number of individual social media messages containing the tracked keywords within the reporting period. One post = one mention, regardless of how many people see it.
The sum of all interactions on tracked messages: likes, comments, shares, and reactions. On Reddit, engagement = comments only (Reddit does not expose upvote counts via API for listening tools).
An estimate of how many people could have seen the tracked messages, based on the follower counts of the authors at the time of posting. This is a ceiling, not actual views — real reach is typically 1–10% of potential impressions.
A score from -100 to +100 calculated by Sprout Social's NLP engine. It classifies each message as positive, negative, or neutral based on language, context, and tone. The net score = (positive - negative) / (positive + negative) × 100. A score of +24 means 62% of opinionated messages are positive.
The dollar value of organic creator content if you had to pay for equivalent advertising reach. Calculated from audience size × engagement rate × platform-specific CPM benchmarks. EMV is an industry-standard influencer marketing metric but should be understood as directional, not precise.
How much a creator's OpenClaw content outperforms their 90-day average engagement rate. A lift of 2.0x means their OpenClaw posts get double their typical engagement — a strong signal of audience interest in the topic.
Messages on the main dashboard are classified into themes (Money Talk, Automation, Setup & Deploy, etc.) using keyword matching against the message text. This is a heuristic approach — a message containing "docker" and "crash" would be tagged as both "Setup & Deploy" and "Pain Point." Messages can carry multiple tags. The classifications are transparent and reproducible.
Sprout Social's Smart Categories use NLP to automatically identify and classify entities mentioned in tracked conversations — categorizing them as Organizations, Products, People, or Places. This powers the Ecosystem section of the dashboard and informs which tools and competitors are tracked.
Influencers are ranked by total engagements, not follower count. Tools are ranked by social mention volume (how often they're discussed alongside OpenClaw). Competitors are ranked by a combination of social mention volume and creator post count. All rankings use the same data sources and time period for consistency.
